Environmental Law

Environmental law governs how people and businesses interact with the environment, including the fauna and flora and provides guidance for the management of natural resources, such as forests and fisheries. The National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (NEMA) serves to enforce Section 24 of the Constitution, which aims to guarantee a healthy environment for every person, to prohibit the State from infringing the right to environmental protection and to provide guidance for protection against any harmful conduct towards the environment.
