Insurance Law
Insurance is a contract in which one party agrees to indemnify another against a predefined group of risks, which may include loss, damage or liability stemming from an event, in exchange for a premium. There are a multitude of laws governing the complexities of the insurance environment, which include the regulation of insurance, the content of insurance policies and consumer policies and claims handling, as well as reinsurance to name but a few. Some of these laws are the Insurance Act, 2017, the Long-term Insurance Act, 1998 and the Short-term Insurance Act, 1998.
